Beer Butter Button Mushrooms

At a recent potluck I wanted to bring something vegetarian and different than what I've made before. I've been on a 'cooking with beer' kick for a few weeks. And mushrooms always give a nice beefiness to a dish and caramelized onions are always a crowd-pleaser. The dish came out well but as a meatatarian it would have been delicious on a nice, juicy steak.

Beer Butter Button Mushrooms
Serves 4

1 carton of Button Mushrooms, quartered
1 large of Vidalia Onion, sliced
2 Tbl. of Butter
1 tsp. of chopped Garlic
1 (12 oz.) bottle of beer
Salt, to taste

- In a large skillet, slowly melt butter
- Add garlic and onions to melted butter. Cook slowly until onions become translucent and begin to brown
- Add mushrooms and saute slowly
- As mushrooms begin to become tender, pour in beer and let it reduce
- Serve as a side.........or atop a juicy steak
